Small update (and by update I mean nonsense)

Haven't really been as active as I'd like because I had last week off, so I was out destroying my liver in a very pleasant way.

I guess I could write about some of the awesome stuff that happened, but I can't really remember any of it. It's probably not funny when it's out of context too.

IDEA!
I heard this yesterday and thought it was awesome, maybe you will too

I like how I can just write about nothing and a video pops into my head. For the next 3 weeks we are doing group work on the big project, so maybe I will have time to be active and maybe I won't. I'll try ;)

A movie called Splice

So there's this movie called Splice I watched a couple of days ago. I can't really talk about it without ruining it for some people, but do know this. It has Adrien Brody as the main character (actually part main character since there's 2). He is also starring in the movie "The Jacket". Go see that first, it's really awesome and weird. If you liked it, you might like Splice. Splice is one of those really fucked up movies that leaves your mind being full of fuck after watching it.

I have no idea if I'm making sense here... The movie is about 2 scientists who splices up different genes into one single "animal" for medicinal purposes. Afterwards, they do it, including a human gene and then things just gets funny, sick and weird. It's great entertainment if you watch it with a couple of friends while drinking a couple of beers. I know we sure had fun xD

Invader Zim

It's an awesome cartoon of abotu an alien!
I stumbled upon it by accident while searching for "hamster" some years ago. Hamstergeddon came up and I was like "wtf?" I don't have the channel in my country so I have to find it online.
In case you haven't heard of it before, here's a link to the first part of episode 1:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S28LQYiJq0
The embed option has been disabled for this one, wtf oO.

I read somewhere that it was taken off air because the kids didn't get the humor, it's more suitable for adults. It's awesome and you guys should go check it out if you haven't heard about it

An awesome youtube video and random occurences in my life

I don't really have a social life so here's the promised awesome video. It's so awesome (especially the ending xD)

Just kidding! (Or am I?) Well I don't really know what to do with my hair, it's getting rather long (I can put it in my mouth-length). It's only getting colder so I might just let it grow into a mane and keep me fuzzy and warm :3 I could also go to a hairdresser and get a "long stylish cut" but the ones I've tried kinda suck at that, I also hate spending money on professional haircuts.

I also need new shoes. Worn-out Converse are so cold to wear during the winter, especially when out partying in the weekends. I don't know any other nice shoes beside Converse, and I don't mean nice in a "oh wow these are so comfy to wear" kind of a way nice, Converse feels like shit. Like walking barefoot, but they do look nice >_>

The Mameshiba one is a commercial for a little toy animal thingy... There are 20+ commercials for it xD

Deathproof

I'm betting you all know who Quentin Tarantino is and either you love his movies, or dislike them. I haven't really found anyone who just thinks they are "meh".

I'm not the biggest fan of Pulp Fiction, in fact I disliked it a bit, but his movie Deathproof is amazing. It started out really boring because you follow some girls who are just ordinary boring girls and the scenes are dragged out for WAY longer than they should.

BUT! (Oh yes, there's always a but. What else would you sit on?) The girls goes to some bar and the movie starts to follow several people in the bar. Things start to get interesting and all of a sudden, awesome stuff happens.
I'm not going to reveal anything, but the I really don't like how the main character suddenly "shifts" personality in the ending. The way it ended was fucking funny though. I laughed my ass off xD

I don't think the movie is that long, so you should go check it out if you get a chance to see it. It's quite awesome

A game called Jets'n'Guns

So there is this game called Jets'n'Guns. It's a 2D shoot-em up game, just like the old awesome arcade ones! Except this was released in 2004.

They wanted some really badass ingame music, so they got the Swedish band Machinae Supremacy to do an album just for the game. That band is quite awesome too, they use a SID chip of the old Commodore iirc, so they were perfect for the job, the music is amazing and awesome. Here are some of the best ones (which are also the 2 first ones heh)

Quite awesome, right? They're available for free download on their website: http://www.machinaesupremacy.com/jetsnguns.php
Here are some of their regular songs. I'm not that big a fan of their vocals, but everything else is awesome so.. :P

This was mainly about the music, but if you're interested, check the trailer out:

Washing your hands

I always wash my hands in cold water. I'm not really sure why though... Maybe it was because I didn't want to wait for the water to turn hot hmm... It wasn't pleasant getting used to, cold water is quite well... cold, to wash your hands in, but I have gotten used to it now. I have done it for over 10 years, maybe even 15.

Downside:
Public bathrooms. School and work (not so much work, there's neither hot or cold water, only "neutral" >_>) are a bit problematic. I finish doing my thing on the toilet, I come out and wants to wash my hands so I turn the handle and place my hands in the sink, and I'm almost certain this is true: I could have sworn I heard the sink yell "By fire be purged!" the instant the water came out, which was scoldingly hot of course.

I don't relly know if it's a clever thing or just utterly retarded. Are there any people with cold blooded hands in here :)?

Loom

Today I want to talk about a game I played when I was very little - Loom. It was released in 1990 (I was only 1 year of age back then. I have no clue when I started playing this, but I was a little kid who knew NO english. This is how I learned my first english words "use, save, load, item, etc") and it truly is one if it's kind.

You start as a wizard looking fellow in a grey robe on top of a mountain. You are summoned by the elders (it's your birthday too, yay) who shall determine your fate because you were educated without permission or something. The one who educated you is turned into an ugly duckling, if memory serves me right, but right afterwards, a swan comes and turns all the weavers (except you. You are also a weaver btw) into swans who then proceeds to fly away.
The dude who got punished for educating you, tells you that the swan who visits you every year of your birthday came to save the Weavers from the Third Shadow that is about to cover the world.

When all this drama is over, the village is deserted and you start your adventure.
You have a wooden staff that you use to cast spells. Spells are cast in a unique way in this game. You have 6 nodes iirc(If I remember correctly) that play tones "a, b, c, d, e, f, g', C". When you play them in the right order, you perform a spell.
Example: When you leave the village in a boat you are stopped by a water tornado. In the village you saw a thing spin around (can't really remember what it was) and if you clicked that, it played 4 nodes. When you get to the tornado, you are supposed to play those 4 nodes backwards to dissolve the tornado. This being a very old game you had to remember everything yourself (write spells down and such). The spells also changed every time you made a new game so you couldn't "cheat" that way.

The story in the game was astonishing, nothing like today's video games. You proceed to different places in the game and end up in some green tower where there is a devil, (he looked awesome even though the graphics were old xD) he's probably the Third Shadow. He rips the universe in pieces in some way and you end up falling down in that rift.
When you enter that rift there are holes everywhere to all the places you've "completed". When you enter a hole there is a ghost of someone who died because of you (you didn't know this until now) and they block the hole so you can't get back before you fixed what your did.
When you close all the holes you get to a pond with swans in them where you find the Weavers from your town and you also find your mother, the swan who visits you each year.
This whole part is incredible. The graphics and the story, unlike ANYTHING you could ever imagine back then.

You get back to the village with the big loom (oh yeah, there was a gigantic loom in the village. Maybe I should have mentioned that earlier) where you face the Third Shadow. Some awesome showdown happens and weird things happen, can't really remember them that well.

That was probably the first computer game I ever completed (I don't know if it was before Quake and Doom..) and the journey through it was simply amazing. The history itself was mind blowing.

Did any of you readers play this game? In case I have awoken some nostalgia in you, here's a more accurate read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loom_%28video_game%29
